I prefer a hatchet to an axe during the warm season, since I don't need to process huge amounts of wood. As you showed, a 4"-dia. tree can easily be taken down with a hatchet of this size, so you can do a good bit of work with one. I've split rounds up to 6" in dia. with a small hatchet. Not ideal, but can be done. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3778698009107538091.post-43911169336633017202013-03-25T08:36:13.921-05:002013-03-25T08:36:13.921-05:00Thanks Peter, yeah you can process a lot of wood w...Thanks Peter, yeah you can process a lot of wood with that setup, plus it's light and carries easy. That's a good combination in the woods.OutdoorEnvyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15128534880274766982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3778698009107538091.post-80680785719674945492013-03-23T22:21:13.262-05:002013-03-23T22:21:13.262-05:00Very nice- it is hard to find a better combination...Very nice- it is hard to find a better combination than a hatchet and a folding saw.Peter Patenaudehttp://www.bootandcanoe.comnoreply@blogger.com
