Well I was probably due for some stitches

Well I had a "Dumbass" moment last night with a knife and cut into the side of my finger to the bone.  Right on the main joint too,  the cut wasn't long but pretty deep.  A few stitches is all it needed and it barely missed my artery the doc said.  Not my first time getting stitches but it is the first time I cut myself bad enough to need stitches from my "toys".  I almost went 20 years of using sharp tools so that' pretty good I think.

Well anywho...just thought I'd share as a reminder about not being careless.  Wear gloves, take the time to do it right, don't rush, be smart, basically do all the things I didn't do...

be safe and take care

  1. That sucks! Glad it wasn't too serious though. This wasn't with the knife you were testing, was it? Talk about bad first impressions!

    1. LOL! It actually was your knife Corey. I really was being careless though. Totally my fault. It was one of those let my guard down for 2 seconds things. I can attest it seems to be holding it's edge pretty well with what I've done so far, still cuts flesh anyways, haha.

    2. Aw, man! I've got to say, using your finger for the edge retention test is pretty hard core.

  2. Ouch!
Making me cringe at the thought of it. Glad you didn't hit the artery though!

    1. Yeah that was a relief. The real shame is this puts off trying out that Double bit for a little bit

  3. Well, at least the knife now truely is yours.
It shows my twisted mind, but I believe a knife or axe can only truely be one's own, after it has drawn some blood.
Glad to hear you're not seriously hurt and that the knife performs. You'll have the additional pleasure of the anticipation of using the doubleheaded in a while!

  4. Yikes! Well, at least you know Corey's knife will be good at game processing! ;) Hope that finger heals up soon. :)
